When entering contact’s name in the To field in Microsoft Outlook, it shows correct email address but wrong contact name which can cause confusion.

Solution

To resolve this issue, we need to remove incorrect “Linked contacts”

1 Click on the correct email address with incorrect name, so that it populates the name to To… field

2 Double click on the name, a menu will appear

3 Click on three dots

4 Click on “Link Contacts…”

5 Remove all other contacts except the only correct contact name for that specific contact

6 Now the issue should be fixed

Note: You need to repeat these steps for each contacts which has this problem.

How to remove Office 365 Account from Microsoft Outlook properly

2 Click on “File”

4 Click on “Sign out”

Now you are logged out from Outlook proberly.

Note: By only delete Outlook profile from Outlook settings, it does not remove your Office 365 account login details from Outlook, by following this guide, your Office 365 login details will be removed, you can still add your account again, instead of type your email address and automatically sign you in, after this guide, you need to manually sign in again.

4 Change the Time Zone and Locale if you wish.

13 Uncheck Encrypt data between Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange.

14 In the Connection tab, check Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP, then click Exchange Proxy Settings…

15 In the Use this URL to connect to my proxy server for Exchange field, enter outlook.office365.com.

16 Check the Only connect to proxy servers that have this principal name on their certificate, then enter msstd:outlook.com in the associated text field.

17 Make following changes:

Check the On fast networks, connect using HTTP first then connect using TCP/IP box.

Select Basic Authentication from the Use this authentication when connecting to my proxy server for Exchange drop-down menu.

18 Click OK.

20 Click Check Name.

21 An authentication prompt will appear. Enter your [email protected] and password form step 4 in the corresponding fields, then click OK.

23 Click Finish. Your account will be setup and you can open Outlook to begin using your Exchange account.

How to Fix: Outlook (Calendar) Search Results Incomplete

If you are sure the Outlook search results are incomplete, please try to rebuild your windows search index or reconfigure Outlook profile or reinstall Outlook.


In this simple guide, we are discussing that the Outlook Search results are not really incomplete.

If you search a calendar then sort by date, you are aware that some items are missing from calendar search results.

Try scroll down, till the bottom of the search results, you might find there is a group named Recurrence: (none): xx item(s) which can include some missing items from the top of the search results, now right click on the column title

Select (none), Click on OK, OK

Restart the Outlook.

Do the same search on calendar, all results will be listed in one group, you should be able to find the missing ones.
